Caption:

This blue-ringed octopus was crouching on the sand with excellent camouflage, making it difficult to have it pop from the background in photos. By using a snoot to minimize extra light, the blue-ring creates a striking figure that fills the frame.

Sepiolas are very timid animals during the day, but on a night dive (if you’re lucky) it is possible to take some nice shots and behaviour. Shot in the Adriatic Sea near Trieste, Italy with a Canon G12.
