Jack Berthomier

Olive-headed sea snake with fresh kill

Jack won a Recsea RX-100 Housing

The photo has been taken at Ouemo bay, New Caledonia.

It has been shot while freediving ( I do not scuba dive), with a CANON 870 IS (with a waterproof case) automatic mode without any special lens .

This snake (about 1.3 meters long) is an hydrophis major which is one of the most dangerous snakes in New Caledonia.

As I was looking to take a shot of him, he put his head in a small cavity and went out while I was near him with that catfish (which is his favorite prey) in its jaws .
