Ikelite announces underwater housings for Canon SD4000, Sony W370, Panasonic DMC-TS2

Ikelite will offer four ultra-compact housings for compact cameras, including the Canon SD4000, Sony W310, Sony W370, and the Panasonic DMC-TS2. All of the underwater housings are of similar size, 6.2" wide x 4.5" high x 3.8" deep.

The price will be $260, available at the end of July 2010. The Ikelite ultracompact housings look like a great value - small, well built, and at a good price point.

The Sony W310 has no manual white balance, so I don't recommend it. In fact, I don't recommend either of the Sony's based on the reviews that I've seen. By the way, only the Canon SD4000 has aperture priority and shutter priority modes. You can read my brief Canon SD4000 review.

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS2 is a "tough" camera resistant to water, shock, etc which is useful. It looks nice, although for $50 more you can get a Canon S90.

More info on the underwater housings are available via the links on Ikelite's home page.
