The Story: This photo of the barrel jellyfish was taken in the fall of 2022 on a sunny day in Grevelingen Lake at Scharendijke. The red glow behind the barrel jellyfish is caused by dying sea sparkle.
The crab that hitchhikes with the barrel jellyfish is actually eating the jellyfish as it tries to flee on its last strength.
