Something in My Mouth

The Story: This photo was taken during the Lembeh Strait Charm Festival 2022, one of the events is an underwater photo shootout, and one of the rules of this shootout is that you must be “unassisted”.

“My group was diving at the Makawide divesite. I spent 30 minutes of the dive just looking for the critter. Luckily one of the dive safety marshals was kind enough and point out an anemone at about 8 meters, and left. So I went there and just stared at the fish and realize there’s something in its mouth. The divetime already shown 50 minutes, with the dive time limit for the shootout is 60 minutes each dive. That meant I only had 5 minutes left including the safety stop, so I just took a couple of shots and left the dive with the group.”

Location: Makawide Dive Site, Lembeh Strait, North Sulawesi, Indonesia

Equipment Used: Sony A7C, Sony FE 90mm F2.8 G OSS Lens, Nauticam Housing, Nauticam Port, and Nauticam Viewfinder, Dual Sea and Sea YS-D3 Mark II

Camera Settings: ISO 100, F18, 1/200 sec
