“Spikefin Goby”

The Story: Spikefin Goby is a wide-spread but rare to be found underwater animal.  I was so excited when I came across her.  It had been 11 years since I last saw her. This spike in goby is very small, with a head of about 5mm and a body length of about 20mm. I used a diopter in order to take a close-up photo of her head. It also needs great patience in order for her to be comfortable with the camera. It was only a few seconds when she got close enough to the shooting distance and everytime it moves away from the camera, it displays its beautiful fins on both side which opens ip several time as a warning.

Location:  Cebu, Philippines

Equipment Used:  Canon 5D Mark IV Camera, Canon 100mm Macro Lens, Nauticam NA-5DSR Housing, Inon Z-240 Strobe, Weefine +13 Diopter

Camera Settings: 1/200 sec, F20, ISO 200
