“Guarding the Future“
The Story: Usually this tiny Goby is shy, but not this one which was stubbornly guarding its eggs. It was making sure its future offspring were safe while keeping a vigilant watch of me over its eggs. The position I found wasn’t ideal. It was a muck dive with many distractions nearby, so I decided to use snoot to accentuate this behavior and eliminate background diversions. Very slowly, so as not to startle the fish, I shifted my position to get a symmetrical center composition, making the main focus on the goby and its eggs at the center stage.
Location: North Sulawesi, Lembeh, Indonesia.
