The Story: Kelp forests, one of the most beautiful underwater environments on our planet, provide shelter and habitat for countless species. On days with clear skies, magic happens late in morning just beneath the surface, after the sun peeks over California’s coastal mountains. I believe there is no better way to capture the beauty of the kelp forest than with natural light, silhouetting the countless rockfish against the blue, green, and yellow canvas pierced by beams of sunlight.
