“Flying in the Sand“
The Story: I took this photo on the last dive of the trip. I had been hoping to see an Eagle Ray all week, but had so far been unlucky. As we descended, this ray was snuffling in the sand looking for food. It was completely absorbed in feeding and allowed me to get close enough to take this image. I converted the image to black and white to better convey the feeling of motion I got from the ray flying over the seafloor and kicking up a sandstorm in its wake.
