"Lionfish Staring at its Lunch"  Shot in Eliat, Israel with Nikon D300

Ilan won a 7-night, 10-dive package in the Philippines with Atmosphere Resorts & Spa!

The story:  Every year the wreck of the Sufa becomes home to a huge school of Glass Sweepers that takes shelter in the upper part of the wreck (the bridge of the ship), this aggregation signals also aggregation of Lionfish that come to feed on the glass sweepers.

In order to take this shot I hovered motionless near the bridge eye on the viewfinder until I caught the Lionfish staring at its lunch.

Location:  Wreck of the Sufa, Eliat, Israel

Camera:  Nikon D300, Tokina 10-17 fisheye lens, Sea & Sea housing, dual Sea & Sea YS-D1 strobes.

Settings:  f18, 1/60, ISO 200
