Caribbean Reef Shark Blur

The Story:

My main aim of the dive was to shoot Tiger Sharks. But there were also great opportunities to shoot other species such as Lemon Sharks and Caribbean Reef Sharks. At some point the sun got behind the clouds and i decided to try movement blur with accelerated panning technique. Because of the shallow depth i could frame the shark between the surface and bottom blur textures.

Location:

Bahamas, Grand Bahama Island, Dive site: Tiger Beach

Equipment Used:

  • Camera – Nikon D850
  • Housing – Subal
  • Strobe/light – 2 x Retra Pro Max strobes
  • Lens – Nikon 28-70mm zoom lens used behind a Nauticam FCP

Camera Settings:

  • ISO 40
  • F/16
  • Shutter speed 1/10s
