“Below the Octopus“
The Story:
I encountered this octopus during one of my many freediving sessions in the summer. On a sandy seabed, I noticed a long line of octopus traps. Sitting right on top of one, but not yet inside, was this beautiful specimen. I carefully approached, staying close to the sand, intending to capture an upward-angled photo that would include both the trap and the octopus. The surprise came when it decided to glide above me. In that moment, I was fortunate and quick enough to capture the shot from beneath as it appeared to fly.
