If you have the Sea & Sea YS-D3 lightning strobe, then you’re probably happy with its amazing recycle times at lower powers. We know we were during our Sea & Sea YS-D3 review. However, if you’ve used the YS-D3 with a third party TTL converter, you may have noticed some inconsistent exposures. Well you’re in luck! Sea & Sea has announced a firmware update that will fix some of these compatibility issues. In order to get a firmware update your strobe must have a serial number below #180701320. If you do have a strobe that meets this criteria, your strobe will need to be sent back to Sea & Sea for the update. To do this, please contact your local Sea & Sea dealer. This firmware update only addresses third party TTL, so if you aren’t using a third party TTL converter or trigger, it does not apply to you. Click here for the full press release from Sea & Sea.
