“Mr Grumpy”

Ian won a gift certificate from Bluewater Travel!

The story:  Fire Dartfish are beautiful but usually skittish.  With some luck, I met this little guy dancing in mid water just outside his burrow.  Aiming to get a black background without startling him, I pre-set my camera and strobes before I started to approach him slowly, staying low and controlling my breathing on the way.  We had eye-to-eye (camera) contact and he did not look all that happy.  I thought he would return to his hide but he didn’t.  After snapping a few shots, I let him continue his dance and waved goodbye.

Location:  Anilao, Philippines

Camera:  Canon 6D, EF 100mm f/2.8L Marco, Nauticam Housing, INON Z240 Strobes x2 f/20, 1/160
