Ikelite recently announced the release of their latest underwater housing, this time for the Olympus XZ-1. True to Ikelite form, the Olympus XZ-1 underwater housing is high quality, durable, built to last, and backed by Ikelite's long-standing reputation for excellence.

Proprietary conversion circuitry allows two-way communication between the camera and Ikelite Substrobes, providing true TTL exposure. In addition to providing the most accurate automatic exposure, this ensures a faster recycling time and longer camera battery life as compared to fiber optic TTL systems. Take advantage of this powerful feature by attaching any current model Ikelite DS Substrobe.

All camera controls except the Flash Open Switch are fully functional through the housing and depth rated to 200ft (60m). Two threaded mounts on the bottom of the housing allow for the secure attachment of optional trays and lighting accessories. This allows you to customize your Ikelite housing with as few, or as many options you desire.  Whether it's a streamlined housing alone, or with the optional handles, lens options, strobes, or video lights.

The Olympus XZ-1

The Olympus XZ-1 is clearly a winner in the class of high-end compact cameras, with very few negative aspects. It's excellent F1.8-2.5 lens makes it stand out about the small crowd of competitors. You can read the full, in-depth Olympus XZ-1 review here.
