hey Margaret, read our page on underwater reflections - and you'll see it's all about the angle of the shot, which dictates whether you'll get reflection, mixed reflection/surface (like todd's photo), or only the light from the surface coming through.

As Scott said the reflection has to do with your angle of view.
If you can see it you can shoot it.
