Hermissenda crassicornis juvenile or not?

This tiny slug was crawling on kelp, at Catalina. I presumed it was a Hermissenda crassicornis. However, the rhinophores appear smooth rather than annulate (ringed). Wonder if the juvenile form indeed has smooth rhinophores before it matures into the larger, adult form?
