Shooting the Cenotes (Cavern diving)

wondering what the best approach would be to capturing some great pics while diving the cenotes in mexico. shafts of light and and eirie blue color as you approach from darkness to well lit areas in extremely clear waters. what would the best intial settings be (ISO, aperature, shutter speed, etc) couldn't much photography on the cenotes (cavern dives)

You can start with Martin Edge's book on UW photography. He has a lot on natural light images, capturing sun rays, balanced light etc.
