Any suggestions for a 14 year old and an underwater camera...he already owns a Nikon D3100. Not sure if I should go for the underwater housing for that but then it talks about other parts I have to get.....I admit I am clueless and could use some suggestions.....please and thank you

If you want to house the D3100 (depending on what lenses he has this will be a good or bad idea) think $1400 for the housing then some ports and strobes (another $1000) so you can get by for $2500 or so. For that money you could get a Canon S100 and Canon housing and a strobe (get one that will move forward with you) and still have money for lots of diving.

Bill has a great point, as the Canon S100 is a compact, yet versatile option. This Camera Selection guide may help you with your decision.
