Hi All,

I have a canon s90 with an OEM housing. I hope to pair a strobe with it this season. I primarily shoot in manual mode so a manual strobe would work just fine, plus that might help me save costs.

Strobe models I have considered:
Sea and Sea: ys-90 DX, 110, 110a, 02
Inon: Inon s2000, Inon d2000, z240

The kicker is that I need to spend less than 500 on the whole set up (arms, cable, tray, and strobe). Any ideas? Or better yet any powerful old manual strobes kicking around in your garages? I am open to suggestions :)

Find 50 more bucks and buy this: http://www.housingcamera.com/YS-02-Lighting-Pack-with-Grip-Stay-S-p/ss-70028.htm
A lot of kit for $450.

How does the YS-02 manual function compare to the YS-110a in manual mode? The numbers seem so similar... I have read things about circular bulbs, and "better" quality of light etc. Is it only the automatic functions that make it so much more expensive than the similarly equipped YS-01?

Thanks for the link btw, that looks like a very good option. I'm a little worried about the tray and grip though, can you add an arm to that so you can position the strobe?
