HD video - white balance EOS 7D

Hi i have just started doing some video. Using EOS 7D in Nauticam housing and ikelite 161's.
My question is re: setting white balance for underwater video.
Do you set custom white balance underwater for video as you would for photo?
What is best to use. gray card?

I just use my hand if I am not wearing gloves, otherwise a slate works well.
