Canon has announced the Canon S95, which is basically a S90 with 720p HD 24fps video.

I'm guessing that it won't work with existing housings, but we'll have to wait and see to be sure.
I think the 1.5mm difference will mess up the controls, what do others think?

The ON/OFF and RING FUNC buttons on top are swapped, and one is now round instead of oval. The press release claims "improved" multi-control dial (rear). But biggest clue that a new housing is required is that Canon already makes one (WP-DC38). Let's see how fast Fisheye can move.

S90 doesn't appear to be discontinued, and both cameras list for $399.99 USD. That said, I better act soon if I want to pick up a "spare" S90 as flood insurance before they disappear!

I have ordered right away a back up S90, I am entrenched, what improvements the S95 has, yawn, don't care. I want a mini dSLR, I figure about two years out still from Canon.

I want one. The "fixes" and "upgrades" address the two things I'd like changed most in my S90: HD video and the too-slippery wheel control on the back. (The latter isn't an issue underwater, since the housing control dominates the feel, but it can be a huge issue on land... and I use my camera in both places!)
That said, unless there is a way to adapt my Fix S90 housing to use with the S95, I'll be stuck (ok "stuck") using my S90 underwater for the foreseeable future. That's fine, although I will miss the HD video ability.

I did the rear control ring mod on my two S90 cameras. I removed the inner ring cover, there I inserted a small piece of Mylar film, popped the cover back on and now the wheel does not spin freely on it's on accord.

Can you elaborate on how you did this mod (maybe a photo with an arrow for us dummies)? Sounds like a good fix, but I am uneasy about prying bits off my camera!
Cheers, Dave

Also, on eBay there is a Hong Kong store that is selling a nice leather camera case for the S90 that is much nicer than the Canon case. Well, the quality is so, so but the function is much better and so is the look:

There are bunches similar, the neck strap lets me carry the S90 at ready, like a real camera.

Does it have a belt clip also, or just the neck strap?

No, the linked case does not have a belt clip, that is why I linked it and why I like it in that the camera can be carried like a real camera at ready on a neck strap.
If you want a belt clip case, Canon has a nice one already, I bought the Canon case and don't much like it. I prefer my camera on a neck strap so I can sling it behind me on my bike, while hiking etc.
