Ceratosoma?

Hi,

This was referred to as the "Elizabethan-collar gilled nudibranch" by our local experts in PNG. I don't think it's particularly rare, but I've never seen it before. Looks green with no light on it. I gotta get a book! Any ideas on ID?

Hi Dave...
Yes, that's a nice specimen of Ceratosoma, probably C. tenue, as it appears to have, albeit faintly, the characteristic purple margin. The tenue species is highly variable in color.

Hi, Kevin. Thanks for that. After visiting your website and seeing some proper photos (WOW) I can now see the faint purple dots on this nudi when I magnify the image. I can also see that I need heaps more practice with my macro shots, not just the wide-angles! :lol: (reference my other post in Photographs).

yep, looks like a Ceratosoma to me.. they are always a nice find! Order yourself the big info-pacific nudi id book, it's well worth it
