I just returned from a week diving in Egypt.

For those of you who wonder about the wildlife over there,

Nice, colorful critters! The anemonefish seems out of place. I don't know why I wouldn't expect to see anemonefish in Eqypt, but that's very cool! Was it mostly sandy bottom-type diving? I bet it was SCORCHING topside! The view of the beach huts through the "palace" (or whatever that was!). Neato that you saw the A380, too (it's awesomely HUGE!).

Thanks for sharing!

Where did you take these in Egypt?
What camera are you using?

@ Dana - the Red Sea has it's specific type of Anemone fish even. (actually two, but I only saw one :)

In july it's scorching hot ! there is nothing but desert and there is no shade. Luckily there is a breeze so it doesn't feel that hot. (but you can feel your skin frying :)

Most of the places I've been along the Red Sea have a coral wall of say - 20 - 30 meters deep and then you'll get a sandy slope down.

@ the.Cancerian - Yep, in Marsa Shagra - Egypt. I'm using a G11 in canon housing with a INON Z240 strobe, an Inon macro lens and a BigEye lens from fantasea.

hey Bart - some of these macro shots are excellent, you should enter them in our contest, in the compact macro category. 1st prize is a liveaboard trip, 2nd prize is a week resort stay.

Dana, the diving in Egypt is quite spectacular, here's a couple writeups that were done for the Underwater Photography Guide

I just missed out on a free trip to Safaga in Egypt, thanks for making me feel miserable :( , kidding aside, I agree with Scott, they ought to be submitted in the photo contest.

Yeah, no kidding... "spectacular"! Add it to the ever-lengthening list of places I want to go! Thanks for the temptation and daydream material.
