I particularly admire the depth your able to achieve using the 100 mm lens and a teleconverter. The front to back/head on ( 1st goby pic) composition can be tricky. The DOF is very narrow to start with. The Plane of focus POF (2nd goby pic) is critical as well. I have always tried to utilize the POF to the best of my ability by avoiding the head on shot, or to focus closely on a specific point, like the eyes. You have achieved both...great examples of using the sweet spot !!
60mm lens with 1.4 teleconverter, shot at a shallow f-stop to accentuate the bokeh, The POF (Plan of focus) play's corner to corner, front to back and steadily softens
Head on front to back composition, with 1.4 teleconverter. Very Narrow DOF and a straight POF....
