Is VR useful in UW photography

VR lenses such as the Nikon 105mm and the 85mm. The VR function on or off for UW photography?

On, particularly in surge. It uses a little battery power but can allow you to get some shots you couldn't get otherwise. Improvement in sharpness for macro is easily observed.

Two for ON.
Use the 105mm VR a lot. The camera/housing/strobes are hard to steady at best and if VR gets that last bit of sharpness especially at the slower SS then why not use it.
My biggest problem is remembering to turn it on before closing the housing and mounting the port.

I think it has limited effect, especially for anything lit by your strobe, because the strobe fires so quickly. But it will help with the ambient lit part of the photo.
