Adobe Lightroom 3.0 released
Moderators: Jornari, douglasjhoffman
Underwater photographers are increasing using Adobe Lightroom to organize & tag their photos, resize and watermark them, cropping, and making edits to their RAW files such as contrast and white balance changes.
As Lightroom grows in functionality, photoshop is often not needed.
Major changes:
- Overhaul of the RAW processing engine
- Functionality to remove lens distortion, such as barrel distortion. Profiles are included for specific lenses
- Improved handling of slideshows and videos, such as the ability to export a slideshow as a video
- Easy upload to Flickr and iPhone
- Tethered capture is supported. This means that Lightroom can import your photos while you are taking the shots - a nice feature for pros. It can even auto-white balance the shots as they are coming into lightroom, read how here.
Available in the USA of $299, or as a $99 upgrade.
