Many people use the padded soft cases or coolers for storage and transport. I prefer a hard case such as those made by Pelican or similar knock-offs such as from Plano.

It depends on where you are taking it. For local diving here in CA where we drive to the dive boat, I use a soft sided cooler. For diving in Indonesia or anyplace where an airplane is involved, I use a backpack to carry on my housing, camera, computer etc. Ancillary stuff like batteries and chargers and my wife's video lights and batteries go in a large Storm case, lighter and cheaper than Pelican.
