Canon S90 Raw files / Barrel Distortion

It turns out you are in for a surprise if you try to edit the Canon S90 raw files outside of the Canon DPP editor, especially if using a wide-angle lens.

I updated the Canon S90 settings page with details of the issue and a suggestion how to correct it, read the "RAW FILE" paragraph.

Very interesting information, what would be your thoughts on using a Fisheye vs a rectiliner lens w/dome and how this would effect the barrel distortion?

Would the macro setting make a difference when using a fisheye with this camera?

Canon corrects the barrel distortion from the lens so it's nothing to worry about unless you edit the RAW files in adobe or picasso.

Distortion from a fisheye lens is different and is usually welcomed.

I think you need macro mode with any kind of dome port because the virtual image lies close to the camera. James has shot without it on (note there is overlap between the macro and non-macro mode focusing distances), so if I were you I'd do some quick tests in a tub of water, pool, etc.
