Hello everyone,
I started scuba diving in the early nineties and have really become interested in underwater photography after borrowing an (analogue) underwater camera for a trip to the Maldives in 2003. Results were an absolute disaster and the money I spent on film was wasted but I decided to continue despite this set back. I bought my own (digital) camera (Nikon coolpix) and all of a sudden I was able to come up with some reasonable pictures. I moved on since then to a Canon S3 with macro and wide angle wet lenses and an external flash. The next step will probably be an SLR camera.
I do most of my diving in the Netherlands with regular trips to the Red Sea. During the summer I try to make a dive twice a week and during the cold months the frequency goes down to once a month (weather permitting).
Although I have been making pictures underwater for the last 6 years I am sure there is still a lot to learn about underwater photography and I found this web site particularly helpful.
