Although DEMA seemed a bit slow this past week, there were great new products to be seen, and our liveaboard and resort partners were excited about their upcoming trips and specials.  Underwater photography booths were some of the most crowded. Underwater Photography Guide editor Michael Zeigler and publisher/ Bluewater Photo & Video owner Scott Gietler took some time to visit some of the booths.

Scott Gietler and the masses eagerly await the start of DEMA 2011.

Bluewater Photo & Video manager, and underwater photographer extraordinaire, Mark Strickland.

Keri Wilk shows Scott the newly designed ReefNet focusable snoot, which uses a SubSee diopter.  Very cool!

Jenny, Katie, and Kimberly of Reef & Rainforest, proud sponsors of the Bluewater Photo's SoCal Shootout.

John and Steve from ReefID.org.  A great website for identifying just about anything you see during a dive!

KBR Lembeh is a proud Platinum Sponsor of the 2011 Ocean Art Photo Competition.

Stein from Kararu Dive Voyages is another Platinum Sponsor for the 2011 Ocean Art Photo Contest.

Andy Sallmon shows Scott the new, powerful, yet compact, Sea & Sea YS-D1 strobe. It looks awesome! It has the same strength as the YS-250 (guide number of 32), but more compact than a YS-110a, and only $699. The beam angle is only 80 degrees, but the 1-stop diffuser brings it to 100 degrees. It's coming soon to Bluewater Photo!

Scott shows off the new Light & Motion Sola Video 4000.

Recsea shared their booth with Underwater Photography Guide and Bluewater Photo this year.  Thank you, gentlemen! They have a new housing for the Sony NEX-5N and the Canon S100 coming out soon, and are now shipping their housing for the Sony HDR-TD10 3D video camera.

Megan and Kim were all-smiles, all the time in the TUSA booth!

Pascal shows Scott the delrin Hugyfot housing, rated to 10m, and is lighter and most cost-effective for those working in shallow water.

Paula at Wakatobi must love her job because she's always smiling! Many people say that Wakatobi offers the most pristine reefs in the Indo-Pacific.

Mike Bartick showcasing bancadiving.com in the Philippines.

Ali Seymour and Peter Hughes of DivEncouters Alliance.

Mercy and Mel, owners of Marco Vincent Dive Resort, proudly sponsored Bluewater Photo's SoCal Shootout.

It was great seeing owners Jean and John Brigham of Ikelite at DEMA. Ikelite has a new 2800 lumen video light, the Ikelite Pro 2800.

All smiles at the PNG (Papua New Guinea) Expeditions booth!

John Boozer of Atlantis Dive Resorts & Liveaboards, another proud Ocean Art sponsor. Atlantis offers fine resorts in Puerto Galera and Dumaguette, Philippines.

Scuba Diving magazine editor, David Espinosa.

Bluewater Photo & Video, and Underwater Photography Guide will have a double booth in the Image Resource area at DEMA 2012 in Las Vegas.  We're looking forward to seeing you next year!
